Blind Date
Blind Date is a Hagerstown area band. They are basically a three piece classic rock 'n roll group that was originally formed in 1989. A regional favorite for many years, the band then retired from the clubs to concentrate on different projects, and also to enjoy a family life.
Now ready to come back to the stage again, original members Donny Byrd on guitar and Garry Heier on bass guitar are joined with drummer extraordinaire Doug Eichelberger to bring Blind Date back to the club scene. Coming back to the stage is the understatement of the year. These guys are rockin' and rollin' through the stars!
Blind Date performs classic rock 'n roll cover songs from well known and diverse groups such as AC-DC, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Kiss, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jet, 3 Doors Down and many others. Their songs span the era from the 60's through the 2000's.
Onstage, Blind Date is a good time party band delivering a high energy performance, having fun with the crowd, keeping them involved and on the dance floor throughout the night.
Donny Byrd has been playing guitar professionally since 1977, starting with his first band Shadowfax. Donny then began touring the East Coast with the band Magnum in 1979 through 1982. He also played with Lace and The Simplicities in the mid 1980's. Donny founded Blind Date in 1989. He is a skillful, technical guitar player in all musical styles, and he has established
a strong reputation in the region.
Doug
Eichelberger has played and taught professionally for 20 years. He is a hard hitting progressive rock oriented drummer who combines technical precision with a heavy rock groove. Doug has toured Europe as well as played circuits on both the east and west coasts. He has extensive studio experience and has played in
nearly all venues of musical styles. Various bands Doug has been in include Cracked Actor, Hired Gun, Kings Ransom and Fell Danger.
Garry Heier began his professional music career in 1984, playing in Southern Satisfaction, a local country southern rock band. He formed the band Pure Grain in 1985, which became one of the most popular country, southern rock bands in the Mid Atlantic region. Switching gears in 1988, he started a classic rock band, Hired Gun. In 1990, he joined Blind Date, which has been his main
project ever since.
All of the members of the band are working professionals that have years of experience in the music industry and can entertain a crowd of 10 or 10,000. So if you have the courage and if you have the stamina to rock ALL night long then come on out a get in while the gettin's good! Blind date will leave you breathless and begging for more!
