Endangered Species the Story

Winter of 2005 the boys from Endangered Species were scheduled to tour Europe with Dave Evans (founding member and original lead singer for AC/DC) Dave came to the USA and played several shows in North Texas with Endangered Species performing as his group, quite an honor! Dave Williams from Drowning Pool got on stage with us at Classic City Rock Cafe’ and took over for an entire set — we will never forget it. God Bless Dimebag, guitar and Dallas will never be the same. Mayhem who perished with Dime, lived across the hall from our studio at DLP and was always very cool to us — Ed Beedle, who performed with ES (smokin’ bass player) passed away — “R.I.P.” Endangered Species is featured on COZ Records’ “The Reign Cometh” Rocket Ismail and the Dynamic Twins — “Cry No More” has some awesome guitar work and is one to check out on this CD. “Experience Endangered Species Live”

Endangered Species History

Performing on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles as Thieves and Lovers — Brothers Chris and Birch Benedict — (showcased with Stone Temple Pilots aka Mighty Joe Young at the Whisky A Go Go) Invited and performed at “Cabo Wabo” twice (thank you Brian Markovich). Chris and Birch regularly headlined at the Roxy Theater, the Whisky A Go Go, the Troubador, Gazzarri’s and many other legendary West Coast venues. Featured in BAM Magazine, LA Music Scene and other rock publications, recorded at A&M Studios and West Lake Audio. Chris co-wrote songs with Grammy award winners B.J. Thomas and lyricist Gloria Thomas, on the “When I Become the Wind” Cd , Birch moonlighted as a house drummer at A&M for Chelsea Hotel and other studio projects.

One of the highlights of playing in LA was when the guys went to jam night at Corbin Bowl, Birch sat in with “Slash” and “Ian Gillan” on Led Zeppelin’s “Communication Breakdown”. Afterward Birch was introduced as Keith Moon on the drums by the legendary Ian Gillan. Looking for new inspiration and a new direction, relocating to the Northwest — experimenting with the melodies, riffs and rhythms the guys headed into the studio. Endangered writing and producing collaboration came out of Cottonwood Studios, Tacoma,WA. Chris and Birch with producer Brent Derocher made it happen. Back in the Bush/BMI — New York — Los Angeles — Nashville. distributed at all major music outlets on the Internet, “Endangered Species” at the “Whisky Ago-go”
